THE ANNUAL “MICHAEL GUNTON MASTERS CHARITY MATCH”
ROCKINGHAM RAMS MASTERS SUPPORT AND GENEROUS SPONSORSHIP HELPED RAISE $4,400
On Saturday 23 June, the Rockingham Rams “Masters” & Gingin Eagles Football teams came together at the Gingin Recreation Ground to raise funds for the local Hennings family who lost their loving wife and mother very suddenly just over two months ago. Mr Hennings has had to give up his job to stay at home and look after his four young children, including 9-month old twins.
Gin Gin have liaised with the Rockingham Rams for the past five years, raising much needed funds for Michael Gunton, who was burnt in a violent, unprovoked attack in Cannington; the Bulpitt family, who suffered the sudden loss of a loving husband and father; Aaron Henzler, who became a paraplegic after a quad bike accident; and Lochie Wright, who was born with a rare chromosomal abnormality (2q23.1 micro deletion syndrome) that affects approximately 100 children worldwide. To date over $20,000 has been raised to help families going through very tough times.
This annual event showcases the Gingin LILP (Legends Imitating Legends Past) and the Rockingham Masters teams where they get to re-live their glory days in their football finery, but most of the players have more tape, more grey hair and more fun – it’s all for a great cause!
